Minor League - Baseball

Malton Realtors won the Old Saybrook Little League Minors Championship vs. Gladeview on Saturday, June 14th at Fireman’s Field.  Both teams played admirably as the game took eight innings to complete.  The tenacious Gladeview team hung on to the bitter end and provided and exciting contest.  The pitching team of Jimmy Henderson and Danny Keating supported the strong defense.  Clutch hits by Tom Strand, Chris Barrett, and Hunter Stuart energized the offense and kept the game going into extra innings. Scott Cabral was brilliant through 4 1/3 innings, striking out 12 batters and holding Gladeview to two runs.  Luke Schoonmaker was the closer and recorded seven strikeouts in the victory.  The offense for Malton Realtors was headed by Erik Frysinger and Luke Schoonmaker with two hits apiece; Frysinger hit a solo home run in the third inning. Also contributing offensively were Austin Hilger, Scott Cabral, and Josh Chang with one hit apiece. Connor Cart scored the game winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Malton Realtors rallied from a three run deficit.  Both teams should be commended for their sportsmanship and efforts!

Atlantis Building Company won the Old Saybrook Little League Majors Championship against the Cruisers by a score of 4-0 on Saturday, June 14th at Fireman’s Field.
